Wine-making
became a family business for the Torres clan as far back as the 17th
century; it was started in the old town of Vilafranca del Penedes in the
north-east of Spain. More than 1,500 hectares of the best land, the unique
varieties of grapes, the latest technologies, the old-time recipes and secrets
of past masters of wine making, traditions and novelties – all contribute to
success.
Standing at
the helm of the company today is Miguel Torres. A wine-maker, who learned the
finer points of his craft from family professionals and at the training centres
of Spain and France, he, together with his kinsmen, is confidently carrying on
with his business. During his visit to Russia, the maitre came to Moscow where
he gave a press conference and carried out a tasting of the Torres vintage
wines supplied to the Russian market.
