Moscow Challenge

An Incentive for Setting Up Records

 

The Moscow Challenge–a tournament unprecedented in the history of track-and-field athletics–is in the offing. On September 20, one hundred strongest athletes of the world will make their appearance in the Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Stadium in Moscow. During two and a half hours they will contend for the $2,400,000 prize fund.

Men will compete in the 100, 800 and 1,500m races and in the hop-step-and-jump. Women – in the 100, 400 and 800m races, the high jump, the long jump and the pole-vault. In all events finals will not be preceded by elimination starts.

The Moscow Challenge is a very spectacular undertaking. It is a synthesis of a tournament of a world stature and a musical show with the participation of popular Russian and foreign stars of the variety stage.
